Understanding the Asap Rocky Type Beat Style

An Asap Rocky type beat typically features hazy, psychedelic instrumentals combined with trap percussion. It emphasizes mood and texture over aggressive energy, often incorporating melodic layers and experimental sounds. The signature style balances between smooth and gritty, allowing versatile rap flows.

Incorporating 21 Savage Elements into the Beat

21 Savage's style is known for its minimalistic, dark trap beats with sharp hi-hats and deep 808s. When blending with Asap Rocky's type beat, focus on adding hard-hitting drums and a darker atmosphere to complement the melodic aspects. The beat "VELVET RICK" uses a Db minor key at 160 BPM to maintain energy while keeping a moody tone.

Step-by-Step Guide to Making a 21 Savage x Asap Rocky Type Beat

1. Choose Key and BPM: Start with a minor key to keep the mood dark; Db minor works well. Use a tempo around 160 BPM for trap energy.
2. Select Melodic Elements: Layer smooth pads, ambient sounds, or subtle synths to capture Asap Rocky's atmospheric style.
3. Program Drums: Use trap drum kits with crisp hi-hats, snappy snares, and deep 808 basslines that reflect 21 Savage's hard-hitting style.
4. Add Effects: Reverb and delay can enhance the psychedelic vibe, while distortion on 808s adds grit.
5. Arrange the Beat: Structure the beat with breakdowns and build-ups to maintain interest and support varied rap flows.
